The Power of Fasting

I have been fasting regularly since 1986. In the early days, I would fast once a week for 24 hours, from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. However, since 2004, I have been going on 21-day full fasts once every 6 months. Once, in 2007, I fasted for 40 days.

Many people have asked me, “Kong, why do you fast so often?” This blog is dedicated to that question. There are many wonderful benefits of fasting:

1. Biological: The physical benefits fasting has toward the body have been so well documented that even non-Christians these days fast regularly for better health. According to World Health Net, a study by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, shows that regular fasting can reduce risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, insulin resistance, immune disorders, and more generally, the slowing of the aging process, and the potential to increase maximum life span.

In Japan, “fasting clubs” are now in vogue. A June 16, 2003, issue of Newsweek states that “for decades Japanese doctors have treated obesity, diabetes and some psychiatric illnesses with fasting.”

During a fast, the body takes the opportunity to eliminate a lot of toxins (harmful substances) that have been built up over the years. The toxins are predominantly stored in fat and mucous cells. The body is “resetting” itself. A common detoxification reaction is headaches. This occurs because the toxins in the blood cause it to thicken and hence cause a headache. A simple remedy is to drink more water or have a bowel movement. In fact, a three-day fast has been used as a standard means of detox recommended by nutritionists the world over.

In America, it is now common to have a 28-day detox program. Books such as Get Healthy Through Detox and Fasting: How to Revitalize Your Body in 28 Days by Don Colbert, and New Again! The 28-Day Detox Plan for Body and Soul by Anna Selby, describe detoxification plans which remove harmful toxins from the body and revitalize it.

2. Spiritual: There are a number of very good reasons why we Christians should fast:

a. Breaking the power of the carnal flesh. Our fallen nature is so tightly linked to the physical appetites of our human body. The more inordinately we yield to our physical drives (such as hunger, sleep, sex), the more we embolden the carnal nature of our undisciplined flesh. Apostle Paul himself was fully aware of the power of the flesh, and constantly disciplined his body “to bring it into subjection” (1 Cor. 9:27). One of the ways he did this was “in fastings often.” (2 Cor. 11:27). As I deprive my body of its craving for food, I am taming my flesh and bringing it into subjection to my spirit. By the end of my fasting period, I often find myself more spiritual, more heavenly minded, more in tune with God, and more sensitive to His voice. In fact, the Scripture records that the reason the church leaders of Antioch were so sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, concerning His plan to reach the Gentile world, was a direct result of prayer and fasting (Acts 13:2).

b. Self-humbling before the Lord. This is the reason why the saints in the Bible fast (Ps. 35:13). They were reminding themselves that they were weak in their own human strength to achieve the big visions and goals that God had set before them. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak (Matt. 26:41). Therefore if our God-ordained dream is going to happen, it must be by a supernatural work of the Lord.

Fasting heightens that awareness. When I fast, I feel so weak in myself. I can’t workout in the gym. I can’t run five km (three miles) each day. After every service during my 21-day fasting season, I often felt like “crashing.” I would then cry out to the Lord, “Jesus, I can’t do it, please help me by the power of Your Holy Spirit!” God will always give grace to the humble (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5).

c. Increasing the anointing level. Jesus says that certain demons can’t be expelled except by prayer and fasting (Matt.17:21). Last month at the Kuala Lumpur Emerge (our annual youth conference in Malaysia), many commented that the preaching of the Word and the ministry time were some of the best they have ever had. Honestly, I didn’t feel any different. In fact, I felt I didn’t preach too well in a couple of the sessions because I was tired due to my long fast. However, many attendees sent me text messages and emails to say that their lives were so impacted and irrevocably changed. As I reflect on this, I can clearly see that God Himself was doing the work. He had so anointed my voice and let His power flow freely through the laying on of my hands. The presence and power of God made a huge difference in my time at KL.

3. Revival & Church Growth: In the Bible, whenever the people of God stopped fasting, they became dull and complacent. However, when a fast was decreed, the whole nation underwent revival and deliverance (2 Chr. 20:3-25; Esther 4:16; Ezra 8:21; Jonah 3:5-10). Last month, I fasted and prayed for three specific purposes: (1) 30 percent growth in every pastoral zone, (2) CHC to get its 10,000-seat arena in the city, and (3) my wife Sun to excel in her American singing career. Fasting greatly adds spiritual momentum to my prayer and faith.

What to Do When You Fast?

If you have a sickness, if you are pregnant, or if you are a nursing mother, please don’t fast.

If you have a history of weak health, please seek medical advice beforehand if you want to fast.

If you are on regular medication, please consult a doctor before you fast.

If you can’t fast throughout the week, just go for a three-day fast. But please don’t fast intermittently (stopping a few meals, eating a few meal) as this will affect the rhythm of your gastric flow and may hurt your body. Once you start fasting, don’t eat until you have finished the fast.

You must drink a lot of water when you fast. Be careful of juices and beverages (such as, coffee) that may give you gastric problems because of the acids they contain. For some people, milk may result in a lot of gas. Yoghurt may cause stomach rumblings, and is generally considered food. The best is electrolytes like 100-Plus, H-2-0, Pocari, et cetera. You need the minerals contained in them during a fast. Drinking clear soup in moderation is good when you need extra energy for work or ministry.

Don’t do anything strenuous like run 10 km, house-moving, dance performances, etc. Adopt a commonsense approach to fasting.

Brush your teeth often as you will tend to have bad breath (again, due to the release of toxins). I normally carry a toothbrush and toothpaste everywhere I go when I am fasting.

Most of all, when you fast, try to start or end the day with a time of deep personal devotion and prayer. Fasting must go with prayer. Otherwise, it is just dieting or a “hunger strike.”

How to Break a Fast?

After fasting, always begin with a light meal, even if you have fasted for only a short period of time. Don’t begin with anything too greasy, fatty or heavy.

The next thing to keep in mind is that the longer the fast, the more gradual it takes to break it. Somebody has said that you must take as long a time to break your fast as you do the period of fasting. When you have fasted for a long time (over three weeks), your stomach becomes like that of a baby’s. Feed yourself after that fast as you would a baby. It may take up to a week to get back to consuming normal food.

When you are in a fast, you usually don’t feel so hungry after the first three days. However, when you start to eat again, your hunger comes back. That is when you must really hold on to yourself. Exercise self-control. Fasting causes your stomach to contract. It is unwise to expand it again to the same extent. Fasting is a great way to change our eating habits, which many of us need to do. However, if you are planning to slim down or reduce your weight, fasting alone will not do that normally. You will get a few kilos off, but you will put them on just as quickly unless you combine it with a changed program of eating and exercise.

Woohoo!!! PTL!!! Am back to OC work again=) Wad a short "break" I had 4 e last few weeks & finally I can go back there start afresh again & work again=) Thank God that he hear my prayers:D Alot of things changed in OC:( Is like as if I don even exist there!!! Rules ve been changed became more strict than ever.... Mgmt ppl faces changed till like as if they r nt e mgmt staff!!! Saw soo many new faces in e Concierge team too=) Some guys also gg off soon:( Like White & Han Wen gg NS next month=) Will miss them:D Merisa starting sch.... Woohoo!!! Aug '09 is finally here!!! PTL:) Time this year really flies very very fast=) Past few days had quite lots of fun as well=) On Friday, 31st July, I attended Festival of Praise @ Indoor Stadium @ 7.30pm & a very famous Pastor, Rev. Pst. Mark Conner, shared e word of God with us about How do we stop worrying in our spiritual life.... It's a really great msg that I responded during e altar call & he prayed many of us as well=) On Saturday afternoon, I went to 51 Old Airport Rd there 2 serve in CHCSA Ministry... I went there due to National Day which is this coming Sunday=) Happy Advance 44 B'dae to Singapore!! It's very fun during that dae as well=) Our team, under COPE of CHCSA, did a March Pass during e parade & guess wad... We March Pass Mr Goh Chok Tong e Prime Minister of Singapore=) Really an honour 2 go there & attend e event=) & Ytd, 2 Aug, I went to Indoor Stadium again early in e morning @ 7am I reach there & queue 2 celebrate CHC 20th Anniversary!!!! Happy B'dae CHC=) For e next 20 years, CHC will keep on SHINE & be e LIGHT & SALT of the WORLD!!! Wad a wonderful weekend I had last week=) I'll never 4get about this events that I've ever attended in e Marketplace=) Praise God=)

OMG & Praise the Lord that I've found a new job again!!! Nw currently working @ Orchard Central as a Mobile Concierge=) Can come & look 4 mii here & I'll bring u ard the mall & let u experience wad is so different about Orchard Central!! It's fun & slack sometimes working in this job 2 wad I feel=) I've been working in this job 4 about 3 weeks plus already!! High-rated per hr pay as well:) Got my hair cut ytd @ my workplace here as well=) Currently having lots of fun working in this job:) Praise Lord 4 that=) Also practically this few weeks down e road, I've been feeling angry, sad, moody, stress in that sense that sometimes I could not handle my job well 4 e day:( All of a sudden feel soo down:( But wad 2 do?? Why Did God Choose me?

Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. Ephesians 1:4

God has chosen each one of us, knowing us and calling us by name, before the foundation of the world. When we consider this subject, we are bound to examine one of the most profound theological statements pertaining to life—that the Lord foreknew each of us.

Therefore, because He foreknew us before the foundation of the world, He planned the steps that He would take in His preparation for our life and eternity. This thought is developed by Paul in Romans 8:29-30: “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”

God’s predestination is based upon His foreknowledge. These two theological words are inseparable. Because He knows all things, He plans everyone’s life accordingly. However, He gives each person an opportunity to receive salvation and eternal life. God does not predestinate anyone to hell. He bled and died on the cross for every soul. However, He knows who will embrace Him and who will reject Him.

So why did God choose us and what is the purpose of life?

(1) “That we should be holy.” Holiness means “being separate from the world.” Holiness involves a separation from worldliness, the works of the flesh and the devil.

(2) “Without blame.” The phrase means “without blemish” in the Greek. To be totally clean—where our mind, our will, our affections, our walk, our service—are washed through obeying His Word (Eph. 5:26).

(3) “Before Him in love” means that we have a love relationship with Him. We must never forget that the relationship between God (who is love) and His children is rooted and grounded in love. Just think of yourself as a parent. Would you be happy if your child is clean, has good manners, and is obedient to you, but he doesn’t love you? How would you feel? There would be no satisfaction or joy in your heart unless your child loves you. The thing that a parent wants more than anything else from his child is love. So it is with our Heavenly Father. What Hewants more than anything else is for us to love Him with all of our hearts.

The Fruits Of The Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Following the list of 17 works of the flesh-which, if practiced, will prohibit us from inheriting the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21)-are the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. There is a need for balance between the gifts and the fruits of the Spirit. In a direct reference to Charismatics, Jesus warns, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness’” (Matt. 5:21-23). The gifts of the Spirit are neither substitutes for the fruits of the Spirit nor an excuse to despise the laws of God. Ultimately, “you will know them by their fruits …

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matt. 7:16, 19). The nine fruits of the Spirit are developed and brought to perfection through contrasting and opposing forces. Jesus says, “Every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit” (John 15:2). Through severe trials and bitter life experiences, God prunes and purges us to bring forth fruit, more fruit, and much fruit. How are they developed?

(1) Love is cultivated through loving those who hate, spitefully use and persecute you.

(2) Joy is developed by those who pass through the valley of Baca (sorrow) and make it a spring.

(3) Peace comes to maturity when you cast your cares on Jesus in the midst of confusion.

(4) Longsuffering can only be formed through overcoming very long and arduous trials.

(5) Kindness shines forth in the midst of the rude, uncouth, ungrateful and unthankful.

(6) Goodness manifests amongst the wicked with their cruel and deceitful acts.

(7) Faithfulness is at its best when confronted by the failure and betrayal of those we trust the most.

(8) Gentleness is developed when confronted by anger to which one does not respond to.

(9) Self-control is the discipline you exercise as you are tempted by unrestrained lust, passions and desires.

Spiritual Atmosphere

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14

The word “communion” comes from the root word “commute,” which means to travel. The communion of the Holy Spirit therefore refers to the moving in the Spirit. But before you can move powerfully in the Spirit, you must become familiar and comfortable with the realm or environment of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual atmosphere is something very real. We live under its influence all the time. There are times when you may come into a room and you feel so uncomfortable that you just want to run out as fast as you possibly can. Then there are other times when you come into a room and you can sense the presence and the power of God. When the Holy Spirit fills a room, exciting and powerful things happen. King Saul was totally transformed when he encountered a prophetic atmosphere (1 Sam. 10:6). One hundred and twenty priests collapsed instantly when the glory of the Lord descended upon Solomon’s temple (2 Chr. 5:12-14).

We must become skillful in discerning the moving of the Holy Spirit and the type of spiritual atmosphere we are in. A sign of spiritual maturity is knowing how to move with the “mood” and “tempo” of the Holy Spirit. Moving correctly with the “feel” of the spiritual atmosphere is so vital. There are a few ways by which we can build a strong spiritual atmosphere around us every day:

(1) Praise and worship. Heartfelt praise and worship always brings down the presence of God (Ps. 22:3; 2 Kin. 3:14-15).

(2) Attitude of faith. When we come before God, we need to let go of our fears, anxieties and worries. An attitude of faith helps us to let go and let God (Ps. 46:10).

(3) Waiting on the Lord. The head moves quickly but the heart moves slowly. The longest distance is usually between the head and the heart. We should daily wait before the Lord until we can “feel” the presence of the Holy Spirit coming upon us. Learn to delight in a prolonged worship time or prayer time before God. Give time for the words of our song or prayer to move from our head to our heart.

(4) Spiritual actions. Our clapping, kneeling, bowing and faith confessions create powerful Spirit-filled atmospheres. The lifting up of our hands is not just a nice worshipful act; it often brings down the anointing of the Lord (Ex. 17:8-13). As you learn to commune with the Holy Spirit in His tangible presence, He will take you on an adventure into the exciting realm of vision and dreams, miracles and the supernatural.

Wad a tiring but filled with fun, joy & touched week I had for this week :) Y I say soo?? Cause 1st thing is about our family chalet @ Downtown East again:D Although we don't ve any BBQ, but is still kind of good tgt as a family getting tgt & spend time with one another=) We just went there for a nite stay over there & checked out this morning=) Secondly, is about weekend svcs with Rev. Mary Alice, who was e founder of a Christian Church in e US, she came over 2 our church & shared e gospel with us talking about Prayer:D Due 2 coming up week is our church's morning & evening prayer meeting week, soo she shared with us & said about how good prayer can be=) Really gt touched by e word that she shared :D Hmm... Yawns*... Am very tired nw wanna go & rest le... Going 4 morning prayer meeting in a few hours time=)

Woohoo!! It's finally June'09!!! Praise Lord Man!!! Really love June that Lots!! :D Time really flies this fast... A lot of things whether it's happy, sad, hilarious, sarcastic, unrighteousness etc also happened & nw can say that it's e past & nw should focus more about e future!! Many things I really don't understand:( Y such things happen 2 be so sudden in my life? Am I not there or am I really missing, lost, un-catchable in many areas? Y my life is soo much different from others?? I just can't understand!!! I still think I am a failure rite nw!! Small matters I also can't do it on my own... Y is that soo?? Haiz... Y am I blaming on myself through this negative thoughts in my mind?? God, help mii in my Spiritual Life!! I'm praying hard for anointing brought upon mii through Lord, Jesus Christ!! Not just anointing, breakthrough as well =) I told myself that I must change in alot of things in my life!! I say it, I will do it!! Friends & Loved ones, can't u all just give mii e trust?? Wad I need is TIME!!! I know that u all out there r some kind of impatient type of ppl whom I know!! But then PLEASE.... WAD I NEED IS REALLY TIME!!!!! GIVE MII THE SUFFICIENT TIME, I'LL PROVE TO U PPL OUT THERE MY REAL SELF!!!!

Hmm.... Ytd had a fun & tiring day as I went tgt wf ZiLin and a photographer 2 Marina Barrage 4 our freelance modelling photo shooting =) We took both dry & wet shoots=) Dry shoots, we went inside e exhibition gallery then e photographer tell us wherev 2 stand, make wad pose etc... It's really fun!! Then we also keep changing clothes 4 both types of shoots=) After e whole shoot, we went 2 Cineleisure meet ZiLin's friend, Lincoln 4 dinner & he also treated us 4 movie:D We watched Night At The Museum 2 =) Really very funny but also touching as well:D We keep on laughing non-stop when e actors & actresses act out some funny parts of e whole movie!! Oo... B4 that, we went 2 Zeniz @ Level 2 there & find Sally cause she working there=) After movie, @ about 12 plus in e midnight, then e 3 of us (ZiLin, Lincoln & Mii) shared cab home tgt... For 2dae, in e afternoon, I went out to Orchard & guess wad!! A person suddenly came up 2 mii & pass mii her name card & say 2 mii that she is frm 1 of e modelling company in Singapore & she told mii that their company is doing shootings 4 tv commercials, magazines etc... Soo, I just left my name & contact 2 her & she will contact mii=) Then after which, I just walk ard Orchard & then went 2 Heeren & get my specs =) After that, headed 2 City Hall walk ard then after which, I headed down 2 Woodlands, Arthur's place 4 CG... After CG, home sweet home =) Yawns*.... Am tired nw... Signing off...

Long Term MIA Post....

WOW!! Time really flies!!! June 09 is also round e corner!! Feel very tiring, stress & also depress 4 e pass few weeks as @ 1st I was working very smoothly but then all of a sudden, I lost my job again:( That was about 2 weeks ago!! It happen like this.... On e 28th of Apr, which is on a Tuesday, was my 1st day of work @ Bukit Batok Polyclinic.. 4 e 1st few days or infect, 4 e 1st week, it was very smooth.. But then, on a Friday, 8th of May, which is e 2nd week of my work over there, guess wad my supervisor say 2 mii last min?? She said: "I'm sorry that I don't think you are suitable in this position!" I was really shocked & I really stunted there & had nth 2 say!! & u got 2 know 1 thing!! I did not even try working as a actual PSA (Patient Service Associate), then they just ridiculously say that I'm not suitable in that position!! If it is u, do u think that they r really that sarcastic & ridiculous?? I doubt u will feel soo!!! Nw that I've just 4gotten about it or rather, not talking about it anymore, but I do really feel that it's really unfair 2 mii!!! Haiz... Don't talk about it anymore!! Nw it's time 4 mii 2 look 4ward 4 e better road rather keep on stressing myself!! Still waiting 4 new job vacancy still:) Praying hard & of course God will bring more anointing on mii:D Hmm... BUILDING A LIFE OF FAITH...

In Hebrews 11:6 it says: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

This bible verse is telling us that in order for us to please & praise Lord, we need to have FAITH!! And in Mark 11:22 it says: "So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God."

There are 4 things that we can understand about FAITH...
1) Faith is a substance and an evidence of things hope for.
In Hebrews 11:1 it says: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

2) Faith is a Conviction.
In Mark 11:23-24 it says: "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

And in Romans 4:20-21 it says: "He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and begin fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."

3) Faith is not passive but very active.
In John 14:12 it says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."

And in Romans 12:3 it says: "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."

And in Mark 9:39 it says: "But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me."

And in Acts 1:8 it says: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

4) Faith is put Saturn on the run.
In James 4:7 it says: "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

And in 1 Peter 5:9 it says: "Resist hom, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world."

And in Mark 11:24 it says: ""Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

And in 2 Cor. 4:18 it says: "While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

WOW!!! Time flies really fast!! May '09 is also just ard e corner:D Yeah!! Praise Lord man!! I'm able 2 start my new job on 28/04/09 @ Bukit Batok Polyclinic =) Hmm... feeling very depressed during e last 1 week as was thinking about jobs & also all of a sudden suffer frm common flu!! But praise lord that I'm feeling much better rite nw!! =) Oo... I almost 4got... I started out a blogshop business wf my Godsis, Elaine, on friday, 24/04/09! Tis cmg sat, which is e 2nd of May 09, our zone, AN (Pastor Audrey zone), we'll be having a fashion fiesta event which compile of items like Manicure, Pedicure, DIY making & many more!! Update for e Day....

Woohoo!! Easter had just past & it's time 4 mii 2 buck up in some plannings made by muaii own nw!! Talking about Easter, last friday & saturday I attended our church Easter Drama production svcs:) It's really awesome!! It really touched muaii heart when Jesus was being crucified!! & of course e msg preach by Pastor Kong is also very fantastic:D Many ppl gt saved as well:) Praise Lord! Hmm... oo ya... I almost 4got 2 write about wad exciting ministry that I've attended last friday & saturday! Just nice from last friday till sunday, @ Expo Hall 7, just beside our svcs hall, they had this SME Fiesta.. This is a trade fair where ppl can look 4 jobs etc.... I remember I received a call on Thursday nite @ about 9 plus from 1 of e in charge of CHCSA ( City Harvest Community Service Association), she told mii about serving in this ministry that they will be in e SME Fiesta! It's really fun serving in this ministry:) I get 2 know alot of other Cell Group members from various zones in CHC:) Then after serving, I went 2 Hall 8 4 svcs! Oo ya... our church drama production was also being pressed by e Straits Times as well:D Hmm... ok nw... Stay tuned 4 nite update... :D

4) Dishonesty--> This is OFFENSIVE!!
5) Annoying Habits
6) Independent Behaviour

We people do lie... But what is/are the real reasons why people lie? There are 4 reasons to it...
1) People lie to PROTECT
2) People lie to LOOK GOOD
3) People lie to AVOID TROUBLE--> This is what we meant by Blame Shifting....
4) People lie OUT OF COMPULSION.

We don't apply on Love Busters in Life... Instead we apply/use of Policy of Radical Honesty & Policy of Joint Agreement!! :)

The meaning of Policy of Radical Honesty...
-> Reveal as much information about yourself (e.g. Thoughts, feelings, habits, likes, dislikes, etc.)

The meaning of Policy of Joint Agreement...
-> Never do anything without an Enthusiatic Agreement between you & your spouse

UPDATE FOR THE DAY....

It's a Sunday again!!! Tmr Monday have 2 go back work again.... Haiz... Sianz ar!! Talk till suffer throat infection!!! Can't raise muaii voice much!! :( But after medication, felt much better than b4:) 2dae, woke up @ about 2 plus almost 3 in e afternoon... Then after that, stayed @ home all e way... Cooked noodles on muaii own for meal... Lazy 2 go out buy!! Some more sick, stay @ home more better!! Hmm... don know going where 4 dinner later... Waiting 4 muaii parents 2 come back!! They went out without mii!! :( Hahax... LOL!! I think too much!! I also don wan go out with them!!! Go out like never go out!!! I rather go out with muaii friends rather than with family!! :D Hmm.. Hmm... woke up @ about 12 plus in e afternoon... Then after bath already ard 1.45pm headed down to Expo Hall 1 for Bible study & of course svcs... 2dae Pastor Kong came back to preach again:) Praise Lord!!! We, as a church, will also pray for Sun as she is very very sick rite nw!! Heard from Pastor that she is sick rite nw in e recovery situation!! Will pray 4 you Sun!! :D After svcs went down to Bugis then we had fellowship @ 1 of e coffeeshop opp. Bugis Junction!! B4 leaving Expo, while I was on my way to e MRT, I met 2 of muaii Secondary school classmates, Shaeerah & Ain!!! They saw mii walk pass them but then I only knew it when they shouted 4 muaii name:) Ain was there working @ 1 of e hall as a promoter!! Quite a long time never see & chat with muaii Secondary school mates le!! :D Ok nw... nth much to write 4 e dae le... Signing off....:D

Woohoo!! Praise Lord that 3rd week of March is ending soon!! Time really flies if we never realise!! Nw is midnite 1.44AM & I still have not turn in 2 bed yet:D Just wanna share some of muaii own testimony through this post!! First is I wanna thank god for muaii b'dae celebration which was held on 3rd of March... I wanna thank muaii cell mate, Yushan, & of course muaii best buddy, Rachael, for helping & giving mii such a wonderful celebration:) & of course, never 4get about N213 members, thanks 4 e gifts & presents that e whole have given mii:D I really love all of it:P Secondly, I wanna thank god for financial blessing.... Especially really wanna thank muaii Ah Ma.. Cause during muaii b'dae week, 1 of e day, she came over 2 my place & gave mii an angbao of S$50!! Thanks Ah Ma & God giving mii this blessing!! Thirdly is I wanna thank god for career.... I wanna really thank god for giving mii strength, power & anointing that has given upon mii through e Holy Spirit when I really prayed 2 God during e quiet time of muaii own!! I found this new job & in this position of Customer Service & Telemarketing Officer!! This job that I'm currently in rite nw is a rather easy job actually!! Cause is just simpliy call out 2 e customers in our database, then update it & of course promote e product 2 see whether they wanna purchase or not... Then after which I can earn extra commission frm there as well:D Praise Lord!! Halleujah!!!

Woohoo!!! Jan '09 has come 2 an end!!! It's finally Feb '09!!! Now, begin 12:23am, is muaii 1st post 4 a brand new month=) Praise Lord!! :D Now is still CNY season, still can go "Bai Nian" & get more Ang Bao..:D 1st week of CNY only when relatives hse nv go anywhere else...:P Every year is e same 1... No difference when CNY comes... Only know that got Ang Bao 2 take, good delicacy of food like "Ba Gua" & some other CNY "Nian Huo" 2 eat plus drink as well:D Eat, drink & have fun all day & nite...:D 2 of e Saturdays, I attended a very good & fun svcs @ Expo City Harvest!!! Pastor Kong gave us e preeching & e msg of e day was MARVELLOUS!!! Really meaningful!! :D He told us about God's Ancient of the Century!! It's also published books that we can purchase & read it.. :D Feel like buying it & read it & understand more about e culture of those God's Ancient in 2000 years ago!! :D After svcs few hours back, I went down to muaii "Da Yi" hse 4 another steamboat dinner!!! Talking about that, on Friday, 30th Jan, muaii cell group mates & I went 2 Novena Ville, Chin Huat Live Seafood 4 a steamboat dinner as well:D we had alot of food & desserts that each of us took & we put it into e steamboat soup!! All of us ate till really really full!!! We also chat & had some entertainment as we are eating as well!! :D We also celebrated Arthur's B'dae!!! Oh yar.... almost 4got, a very belayed happy b'dae 2 Arthur!! :D Hmm... think nth much nw... Will upload some photos that muaii cell group leader, Grace took:D

It's really fun & interesting & Pastor Kong really gave us a very good Msg. about CNY!! We wrote alot of chinese characters or words 2 make it simple:D Hmm.. almost about 2 years nv touch on chinese!! :) LOL!! Then talking about Sunday, 25th of Jan, @ nite, muaii family tgt wf mii & all muaii father's brothers family, went over or rather gather @ muaii Grandmother hse for "Tuan Yuan Fan" session:D We had 2 different types of steamboat as well!! Then @ "Da Nian Chu Yi", every family go ard 2 our relatives place & Pai Nian plus take Ang Bao:D Hahax... Every year once only... Take "Yi Ge Yi Si"!!! :D Hahax...:D "Da Nian Chu Er" also do same thing... :D Went ard Pai Nian get more Ang Bao:P I also gambled abit @ various relatives hse as well:D Hahax.. --> A earnest prayer is adapting our will to GOD; which also means that we, as a believer, we must always pray real hard to let Jesus know that we seek him 1st when we are in need..

In Colossians 3:5-> Mortify before your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

In Matthew 7:21-> Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my father which is in heaven.

This is 1 of the 3 things that I know & ve learnt through a missed svcs on e 10-11 Jan '09.. The Pastor who came was Dr. John Bevere..He talked about Honor's Reward... He say this...

* We Christians as believers, we say our prayer to GOD. When you pray to Him, if you just pary only, & you did attempt or do it, you are generally unfaithful to Lord, Jesus. Once People say & without doing their say, Lord will know.. As simple as that is: People have 'Actions', say it out in 'Words' and doing with 'Thoughts'...

I also learnt this short verse from him when I watched the online svcs video/sermons ytd...
**Look to yourselves that we do not LOSE those things we worked for, but that we may receive a "Full Reward".... This is a rather full summarise things for 2dae... Sign off....

Woke up rather late... Ard in the afternoon.... Then after that went BPP buy something eat... After came back frm BPP, sit down in front of the computer & rot!! watch movie on9, chat wf friends out there!! Still looking for a part-time job currently.. Till nw still haven find yet!!! Haiz... God, pls help mi!! I'm still praying hard 2 get a part-time job!! I NEED 2 EARN MORE $$!!! Then later in the afternoon, about 4 plus reaching 5, went 2 fetch muaii younger bro back home frm school!! Hmm... Think nth much le bahs... :D

2dae woke up @ about 12 plus in the afternoon... After that took a shower then went down Bangkit find muaii mum help her take things that she bought... After that frm there, we took LRT back hm... Reached hm @ about 4pm then after which, I waited till about 4.45pm, went out 2 fetch muaii younger bro back hm again... :D When reached hm, did nth much also... Still rot!!! I'm everyday rot since 1st Jan 09!!! LOL!! JOB!! JOB!! I NEED A PART-TIME JOB!!! Pray 4 mii guys!! Hmm... should be nth much 2 write 4 e day le... Sign off....

Hmm... Few days nv update blog le... cause muaii younger bro keep on use & use 2 play his own games!! Haiz.. LOL!! Since came back frm Hong Kong up till date, still haven find a part-time job yet... Haiz... Any1 can intro?? I really need 2 work part-time & earn money 2 settle debts & stuffs!! GOD, HELP ME PLS!!! I NEED U RIGHT NW!!!! Argh!!! :( Woohoo!! Going 2 celebrate Chinese New Year le :) Can get AngBao again..:) Hahax... Every year only once!! Looking 4ward 2 that!! :D Hmm... 2dae, Sunday, woke up @ about 2 plus then after went took a shower then after that went Plaza Da Bao food eat then after spend some time rot @ home, @ about 5 plus went over 2 muaii Grandpa's hse 4 dinner wf muaii cousins!! Praise Lord!! Finally united once again!! :) That is wad Jesus told mii when I pray 2 him last few days & during svcs @ Expo Hall 8... This is wad Jesus say 2 mii when I pray 2 him: "At first, you ask for family united just like before, now I will make it come true as I sense your prayer when you spoke in tongues during church services!! Now that you have the chance to prove to them that you are the daughter of the house and of course my (Jesus) heavenly daughter, keep on praying, speak to me, seek me first if you are in difficulties!! I will always be there for you.. May God bless you & make your life prosper:)" After I hear this reply through muaii heart, mind & soul, I really felt that it really works when we pray 2 God, seek him 4 help 1st whenever we are in need or doubt!! Try it my friends out there:) One day u will believe that God is "ALIVE" & will "ALWAYS" be there as and when you need him..:D

** Update for 09/01/09...

Hmm... It's a Friday, e dae which muaii family & some of muaii relative go 2 Hong Kong 4 a family trip... We woke veri early in e morning @ about 5.00am then after which @ about 6.15am, muaii dad drove us (muaii mum, younger & elder bro, third uncle & family) 2 S'pore Changi Airport, Terminal 1... We reach there @ about 7am & check-in @ about 8.30am as our flight was 9.10am... We reached Hong Kong @ about 1pm.... After which, when we r @ Hong Kong International Airport, we waited 4 e coach 2 serve us & bring us 2 e hotel which is located @ Mongkok & Prince Edward MTR station... E hotel named was Metropark Hotel Mongkok.... We stayed in this hotel 4 about 3 nites... On Monday, we stayed @ Disney Hollywood Hotel.... After everything was settled, then we proceed on 2 our shopping session.... WooHoo!! We went 2 "Nu Ren Jie", "Shanghi Street", "Hua Yuen Jie" there & shop ard... That's all 4 tis update 4 e dae....

**Update for 10/01/09....

It's a rather cold & breezy Saturday... Over there e weather temperature was within 9~16 degrees... WOW!! It's veri freezing cold!! We woke up @ about 7 plus in e morning then after that we get ready & had our breakfast tgt nearby our hotel then after which we proceed on 2 our shopping session again.. But b4 that, we went 2 a famous temple & explore ard e temple... On that dae was filled with many ppl & tourists as well!! After which we walk, shop & eat 4 e whole dae... :D

**Update for 11/01/09....

It's also a cold & breezy Sunday... We woke up @ about 9 plus in e morning once we get prepared, we went 2 e hotel lobby meet & gather for breakfast & then after which went 4 another shopping & exploring session.... In e afternoon, @ about 4.30pm, we took a ferry 2 Macau... @ 1st we r able 2 board e 4pm ferry but then we missed it cause when we r walking on our way 2 e ferry terminal, some of us went "missing"... Haiz... We keep on asking directions then after which we got 2 our destination.... :D I took some photos & a short video clip @ Macau.. Enjoy.. :D

It's a Monday again... This is e dae where we check out frm Metropark Hotel then we went 2 Disney Hollywood Hotel & stay 4 a nite... It's veri nice & big inside... All Disney characters & they even also give us their hotel gifts which they place it in e rooms where we stay in.. Muaii family's room was 3739... E third floor, room 739... E rest of muaii relatives r located beside us.... E toilet is e most beautiful 1.. All consists of Mickey Mouse items & pictures... :D Just b4 we check in 2 e hotel, we went 2 DisneyLand shop & play 1st cause we only can check in @ 3pm... We reach there @ ard 10 plus in e morning... :D Then, inside DisneyLand, We took pictures with e Disney characters like Mickey & Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Winnie Pooh, Chip & Dale etc... We also played e games available there!! :D It's really fun & interesting... E whole place was perfect!! Took some photos & a video clip... E video clip is fireworks in e nite @ DisneyLand, Sleeping Beauty Castle.. Enjoy...:D

It's a Tuesday... E dae when it's time 4 us 2 return back 2 S'pore... :D Wad a tiring & fun plus interesting trip we had!! Just b4 we proceed 2 e airport, during e dae, frm 10 plus in e morning till about 3pm, we spend our final DisneyLand shop & play trip!! Took some photos as well... Enjoy.. :D

Then @ about 6.35pm we took off frm Hong Kong & departed 2 S'pore @ about 10.15pm... After our passport scanning & collected our luggages, all of us home sweet home =)

WAD A RATHER BUSY THURSDAY THAT I HAD....

Hmm... It's a Thursday, 08/01/09, Woke up @ about 12 plus in e afternoon then after which about 2 plus muaii Mum, younger bro & I headed down to Jurong Point for shopping & of course mii & muaii elder bro went there change money for tmr's trip to Hong Kong...Then after which I headed down 2 Dhoby Ghaut & meet 1 of muaii cell group mate, Yushan, & pass her card that I've done 4 our cell group leader... :D Counting down to e hours for e trip!!! :P Few hours back, @ about 8 plus, just b4 I came back frm Dhoby Ghaut, I alighted @ pending LRT stn. there then headed 2 muaii hse here @ blk 416 de clinic.. Went there 2 take e Flu Injection!! Oo... e doctor still veri funny... He asked mii this: "Wow... U cough out means u r afraid of injection?" Then of course I replied: "No." Hahax... I keep on laughing throughout e whole injection.. LOL!! But then after all, injection is not that pain actually!! :D Just few secs. & that's it!! :P After I reached home, I pack muaii stuff 4 tmr then ltr, muaii dad ask mii go out buy b'dae cake 4 muaii younger bro.. Cause 2dae is muaii younger bro's 4 years old b'dae!! Praise Lord!! Took some photos earlier on.. Will upload it=) Hmm.. okays nw... WAD A RATHER BORING DAYS THAT I'M OVER-COMING WITH.....

Hmm... It's 1:20am rite nw... Few days nv update muaii blog le... Cause muaii younger used e computer play his own games... Haiz... :D Practically tis few days I keep on go out & buy some stuff for tis Friday muaii Hong Kong trip wf muaii family & relatives!! WooHoo!! Counting down 2 about 1 day to the trip!!! It's e 1st weekend, a rather fine & breezy Saturday... I woke up @ about 11 plus almost 12... Then after that not long proceeded 2 Downtown East for muaii Family Chalet.... WooHoo!!! It's nice having over-nights there!! Can ton there & have lots of great fun as well:D After I put muaii things there, once I got changed, then I chiong down 2 Expo for church svcs... cause it's a rather special svcs... When I reach there, I join in 4 e queue wf Jason, 1 of muaii Cell Group mate whose frm Hong Kong, then after that e others came behind & join in 4 e queue!! :P After svcs, Jason, Xin Tian, Janice, Jesslyn, Yun Lu & I stayed behind 4 our New Comer's Tea @ Expo Conference Room 1, e room which we had our CIC that day... It's really fun!! Took some photos wf our dearest Pastors as well..:D Will upload 4 that.. :P Then after that I went back 2 Downtown East find muaii family they all @ e chalet for BBQ.. :P

Hmm.... It's a rather boring Sunday.... After we check out frm e Chalet, we ate our breakfast cum lunch there then after which we went back home & rest... :P Muaii cousins they all stayed there & went 2 Explorer Kids there played.. :D After came back home, once everything is settle down, not long, muaii dearest godsis, Elaine, msg mii & ask mii out!! :D Soo I immediately get changed then after that went down Orchard Cineleisure & find her plus some of muaii Cell Group mates, Grace, Pei Di, Yun Lu, Shan Shan & Yushan... :D We watched this movie called "Bedtime Stories".. E whole story is rather funny!! :P We keep on laughing & laughing non-stop... Hahax... Long time never watch movie in cinema le.. :D Then after movie, I went down 2 muaii godsis place cause she kena caught by her sch teacher for hair colour!! LOL!! Then I accompany her go her hse downstair, 1 of e saloon, then I sit there like don know wad see her dye back her hair colour!! :P LOL!!! Nw currently resting @ hm but then will look 4 other better jobs near my hse area.. :D Talkin back about last 1 day of 2008, 31 Dec, a rather fine Wednesday, in the morning I went to work as usual but guess wad... I had a chance 2 go out of office for Stock Taking @ various companies of LCH's Clients... In the morning @ about 9 plus 10, I went out wf 2 of my colleagues, Anthony & Jawaha(if nt wrong 4 e spelling).. The 1st place we went was S'pore Soka HQ where it's located @ Tampines then after that Anthony & I left him there wf e person in-charge then we went to Hyperterm then after that EPL Alliance then after that went some others all @ East area... :D We run here & there ard East area.. :P Very tiring but also very fun!! Take pictures here & there, count their stocks also... :P Feel like doin it again if ve e chance!! As usual, went work in the morning frm 8.30am to 5.30pm then after work, headed to AMK, 1 of muaii Cell Group Mate hse for our church video screening called 'My Hope Evanglism'... When I reach there, met some of muaii other Cell mates, Yushan, Philio, Jason & of course the hse owner Charles..:) Then after every1 of us settle down, we played Monopoly 1st then after which @ around 8 plus 9, Jason went down to bring 2 of his friends who come frm Indonesia, to join us for the video screening..:D We also had alot of great food which was made by Yushan & Charles..:D All e food taste good:P Below will upload pics for the day... :P

As usual, in e morning went work!! Sianz... I overslept also!! Woke up @ 7.30 then went out frm home @ about 8.30!! Luckily nv late!!! Reach office @ 8.59am!! Haha... LOL!!! Just b4 e service, we had prayer meeting @ 3.30pm then frm there we prayed till about 5pm which is just half an hour b4 the whole service starts!! Final Year Exams finally over...:D Praise the Lord Man!!! Ytd POA e paper still quite alright... Every of e questions I am able 2 do... GOD Bless..:P Whereas 2dae de BEO paper, haiz... also don know how I wanna say... It's really kind of diificult 2 attempt those questions... For the structured questions, which is e paper Section C, once I look through all e questions, muaii mind immediately went blank... LOL!!! Almost all of us say can't really do e paper... :( Then after e exam, in e afternoon, Sally, Yuen & I went Harbourfront Centre & ve lunch tgt b4 going back 2 office & work 4 half dae.... Haiz... ** THE STRUCTURE OF THE CHURCH(CHC) IS DETERMINED BY ITS NATURE...
It has 5 things that determined:
1) The Church is a FELLOWSHIP- A top priority in a fellowship is UNITY and HARMONY.
2) The Church is a FAMILY- We operate on the basis of RELATIONSHIP, not RULES.
3) The Church is a BODY- As a body, we function on the basis of SPIRITUAL GIFTS,not ELECTED OFFICE! Leaders lead by VISION, not proclamation or election!
4) The Church is a FLOCK- As a flock,the Church is cared for and led by SHEPHERDS. A shepherd's job is to feed, lead, protect, guard, guide and govern the sheep.
**Still talking about No.4..
There are 3 different Greek terms used in the New Testament to refer to church leaders. And they are all talking about the same person:
a. Poimen - Pastor or shepherd
b. Presbuteros - Elder, someone who is spiritually mature not just old in age.
c. Episkobos - An overseer, or a bishop.
5) The Church is an ARMY!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MEMBER OF CITY HARVEST CHURCH? There are simply 4 reasons to this:
1) A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the Church.
2) A Cultural Reason: It is a cure to a self-centered world.
3) A Practical Reason: It defines who can be counted on.
4) A personal Reason: It produces personal spiritual growth.

Hmm... Long time nv post again cause busy... Last Sat went Downtown East Chalet... Hahax... Fun wor... Met alot of new guys and friends of course... :P The chalet is Serene's Bf de B'dae de... WOW!!! Nov 08 1st week already gone... OMG!!! Time really files!!! :P Last few days was rather busy preparing for exams & some church stuffs... :D Tiring.. :( But i still can go on... As i know that Jesus is there leading mii & taking mii along 2 the rite path... :) AMEN.. That dae on e 4th of Nov, we had our BEG Practical Test... Mr Tan send us email & let us know that most of us infect did well in the test.. Praise the Lord.. That dae kind of early in the morning, i went down 2 City Harvest Church @ Jurong for Morning Prayer... Another 1 week MIA post...

Woohoo... It's a wednesday again!! LOL!! 2dae went office work as usual... Did all the irritating accounts & stuffs... :P Hate that lots but NO choice!!! LOL!!! Is muaii Supervisor put mii de... Not I wanted de... :( Haiz.. Cant blame also la... @ least I ve a temp. job 2 work on it.. :D Prasie the Lord Man!! 2dae somethin kind of funny happened... When i went 2 the office's washroom, just after i open the door, guess wad i saw?? It's a damn sickening cockroach crawling around in the washroom... Then end up after i ve done, once i came out, i quickly went 2 muaii Supervisor & told her that there was a cockroach in the washroom then she laugh out damn loud then I soo "Pai Seh"!! Is her reaction too big that's y she laugh till like "machamp gila" lorx... LOL!! But of course i quickly take the Baygon insecticide kill that sickening cockroach.. Hahax.. That reminds mii of something that came through muaii mind... The office's washroom is not that clean... :D Hahax.. Lame rite?! LOL!!! A Rather Cool & Breezy Wednesday :=)

2dae public holiday... Nv go anywhere... In e afternoon went plaza de Ichiban Sushi restaurant meet muaii dearest mum eat rather late lunch... Cause i woke up kind of late 2dae... Slept quite well last nite then sleep all e way... Keep on ve this feeling of sleeping don wake up... Hahax.. LOL!! Then after that around 7 plus went out 4 dinner wf muaii family... @ 1st we went 2 opp. Katib Camp there de Hong Kong Cha Chan Ding eat but then too many ppl... Long queue also... Then end up we decided not 2 eat there le... Muaii mum said later we wait till 9pm also don sit 1 lorx.. Then after which we headed 2 Sembawang there gt 1 restaurant called Xi Jia Zhuang... Muaii dad collect their waste oil then e boss wf muaii dad know each other quite well... Soo we settle our meals there... Also alot of ppl.. But then @ least we found a empty table & place our order.. :D God bless that we found a table as quickly as possible... :P Not long, muaii 2nd uncle, who is muaii dad's 2nd bro, came & join us 4 dinner as well... Then we chat along while having our dinner.. :D After dinner, all of us headed straight home.. :) Hmm... nth much 2 write 4 2dae le.. Signin off.. :D

It's a Saturday again!!! Yeah:P

Morning couldnt wake up also... LOL!! Too tired then slp till about 12 noon then wake up.. After that around 1 plus went down 2 city hall area 2 meet muaii Taiwan friend 4 lunch.. :D We ate @ Convention centre de Food Republic... :P After our lunch, we went down 2 Expo, The Max Pavilion, over there de Church called City Harvest, the Pastor was Sun He Yao Shan's Husband... :P He's the 1 who found this Church:P It's rather big also... Alot of ppl attended as well... It's almost full seat.. :P If u're there, u can image e ppl who r Christians:D This is muaii 1st time attending Church prayers & stuffs... :P I get 2 know alot of friends there as well... After Church, we went 2 Bedok South Market there 2 eat our dinner... :P Muaii Taiwan treated mii 4 this whole dae lunch & dinner..:P Had a Great time wf them as well:P Next week goin there again... Went work in e morning 4 another half dae... Haiz... Soo de bored lorx... LOL!!! After that @ about 1 plus left office went down City Hall meet Lin Bei Bei & Serene, both muaii best buddies :P After meeting @ City Hall, we went Marina Square de K Box sing till siao... E cleaner still scold bad words wor... Like wad lorx... U nv see his face ar, more de like hell de lorx... LOL!! After that, we went Esplanade there & sit down, enjoy watchin nice view @ there...
